Bulletin Place 2000 Chardonnay
is refreshingly different.
No oak used to produce this bottle of wine.
Lively and clean, the fruit has notes of citrus, white flowers, and gooseberries.
The finish has a pleasant mineral snap.
Bulletin Place Chardonnay is a welcome change of pace with a great price point.
I found this to be very Chablis like in style.
It is a clean representation of chardonnay.
Retail price $10. Tasted September 10, 2003. Clean and refreshing earning three out three .

Omrah 2001 Unwooded Chardonnay
is a great, inexpensive chardonnay that is very Chablis like in style.
It is un-oaked, or shall I say "Unwooded" and has all those bright zesty flavors that
stainless steel chardonnays are blessed with.
The nose is citus and floral.
On the palate, there are lovely, bright notes of kiwi, peaches, starfruit, and lime zest.
The fruit is clean, not hampered by the excessive use of oak.
This wine would pair well with light dishes because of its ample acidity.
Although, it does not have the quality fruit of most Chablis,
(I'm talking real Chablis, the stuff that comes from France),
it is a great everyday quaffer.
This is an alternative to the inexpensive domestic "Oak-Bomb."
Retal price $9. Tasted September 8, 2003. A refresh change of pace earning one .

Flinders Bay Shiraz 2000
is elegant like a Syrah, yet is priced like an Aussie Shiraz.
The Margaret River fruit is very violet in your glass.
The fruit is dense and ripe as Australian shirazes can be, yet there are subtle notes of
smoke, clove, and mint.
The finish is velvety with a turn of black pepper.
I suspect winemaker Martin Shaw will be wooing us with more sultry reds from the Margaret River area for
years to come.
Retail price $17. Tasted August 22, 2003. Elegant and structured at two .

Mad Fish 2001 Shiraz
is a great example of Aussie juice with balance.
It has loads of black fruit, licorice, and cookie dough.
There is a notable amount of acidity, which gives the wine a pleasant structure.
Juicy, with a beautiful hue of reddish-violet color, this shiraz is a quality bottle without having to
pay the price.
If you want a jammy shiraz that does not taste like the droves of mass produced wines from Down-Under,
this bottle is for you.
Retail price $15. Tasted June 8, 2003. A must have for a shiraz drinker with one .

Mad Fish 2002 Chardonnay
is Chablis meets Carneros.
When I describe the flavors in a French style chardonnay, I use adjectives like
key-lime zest, star fruit, minerals, white flowers, and quince.
When I describe a Californian chardonnay, I use terms like mango, toasted nuts, butterscotch, oak,
and butter.
Mad Fish 2002 Chardonnay has a pleasant intersection of Old World and New World styles.
It has noticable bright citrus fruit flavors with a creamy toasted nut finish.
If you like your chardonnay aged in oak, but tire of the nearly sirup-like California chardonnays,
this may be to your liking.
Retail price $15. Tasted April 18, 2003. Good quality, better price with two .

2000 Cullen, Margaret River, Chardonnay has citrus on the nose and reveals a nice
lemon zest palate with a faint creamyness from the use of older oak barrels. I thought the quality of the
fruit shined by the gentle use of oak.
Rated August 1, 2003. We gave this wine one .

2001 Leeuwin Estate Sauvignon Blanc/Semillion blend has an interesting jalepeno nose, light, citrus fruit
on the palate, and a nice gentle finish. We found this to be a very refreshing wine.

2000 Leeuwin Prelude Chardonnay has a tropical fruity nose and a
distinct roasted nut finish. The little sister of the Art Series, this wine does have a bit of
oak on the palate and finish, which gives it a big creamyness. If you're a fan of well done,
oaky Chardonnay, this bottle is for you.
Rated August 1, 2003. We gave this blend a single .
