Robert Stemmler 2001 Carneros Pinot Noir
is a New World style wine embodying ripe cherry flavors and smooth mouth-feel.
The nose is rich with notes of flowers and the palate has raspberries, cherries, vanilla, and a touch
of roasted nuts on the finish.
This wine is very, very smooth.
The acidity is quite not as prevalent as a Burgundy, yet balanced with the fruit.
The tannis are smooth.
A great bottle for a pinot drinker looking for value.
Retail price $30. Tasted September 10, 2003. We rate this pinot with two .

Barnett Sangiocomo Vineyard 2001 Chardonnay
is a great marriage of styles.
The clean fruit flavors are reminescent of Chablis, yet the rich, lush, tropical hints are very
California.
They limited the use of oak and only used malolactic fermentation on 50% of the juice.
I'm always looking for chardonnay that has clean charateristics.
This wine has bright fruit flavors of starfruit, white peaches, apples, and a touch of roasted nuts and mineral.
It is full bodied, while preserving the varietal charateristics, creating a very well made California style
Chardonnay.
Retail price $25. Tasted June 4, 2003. A great domestic chardonnay with influence from Chablis earning two .
