Cain Musqué 2001 Monterrey Sauvignon Blanc
The distictive jalapeño pepper on the nose follows through to the palate.
There is a bright citrus flavor, rich melon note, and a snappy mineral finish.
Because of the herb-like, jalapeño pepper notes of this wine,
pairing it with food creates a wonderful culinary experience.
A very unique sauvignon blanc, that should not be missed if you're into unusual whites.
Retail price $20. Tasted October 12, 2003.
A great pair with fish, chicken, and lighter foods earning three out of a possible three .

Hahn Estates 1999 Santa Lucia Highlands Meritage
Is a true Bordeaux-style blend containing a pleasing mix of all five Bordeaux varietals.
A quality wine, embrassing a tried and true recipe.
The palate was rich with blackberries, cassis, spice, and smoke.
The acidity and tannins gave this blend good backbone and the finish offered a touch of pepper.
It is very Bordeaux like in style, a refreshing change of pace.

The finish was mid-palate is rich with deep smoky flavors and the finish linger with a touch of licorice.
The acidity was very soft and the tannins were a whisper.

Barnett 2000 Sleepy Hollow Pinot Noir
I loved the rapberry, strawberry, dried hibiscus flower, and earth that develops in your mouth.
The fruit flavors are bright and dense.
The acidity compliments the bright flavors creating a synergy.
The finish is prominent, with cherry hard-candy and white pepper tannins.
The mouth-feel is sultry,
the fruit flavors bright, and the quality offers a brooding mid-palate.
Burgundy meets California as the two styles marry in a well made bottle of red.
Retail price $30. Tasted June 5, 2003.
Earns two out of three for style and grace .
