Beer
California

Lagunitas IPA, Petaluma, California
While most of its peers are brutish and bitter, Lagunitas India Pale Ale is graceful and smooth. It possesses notes of tangerine and other citrus fruits. The hops adds an exotic spice compliment to the sweet fruit flavors. Impressive integration of flavors and mouth sensations.
Tasted 9/29/2006.
-BF $9 a sixer

Lagunitas Pils, Petaluma, California
Their claim to fame is that this lager is the only one made with Saaz hops. It maybe why this brew is so interesting. This Czech Pilsner is delicate and crisp, yet rich with a touch of honey flavor. Notes of chamomile, fresh hay, slightly sweet-spiciness, and a touch floral. This is a refreshing beer that offers a crowd pleasing profile. Beer aficionados will appreciate it and the American Pilsner crowd will find it enjoyable too.
Tasted 9/29/2006.

Lagunitas Brown Sugga, California
Sweet nose with hints of brown sugar and oranges. Rich mouth presence. A caramel canvas carries hints of spruce, orange liqueuer, and honey drizzled over fresh bicuits. It's got a spicy hoppy note, but the sweet, rich, and malty palate is what takes the center stage.
Tasted 5/30/2006.
$9 a six pack

North Coast Brewing, Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, California
Intensely dark as you pour it into the glass, almost black. It has a tight, thick amber head. It's like drinking a bitter chocolate torte with black licorice icying. Roasted grain flavors and notes of espresso fill the mid-palate. The hoppy flavors add a floral spark on the finish. This brew deserves your undivided attention.
-BF $10 for a four pack
