Matua 2004 Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand
Dark and dense on the glass. The palate offers lighter cola nut, vanilla and bright cherry flavors. It offers all the things a good pinot should have. Fruit, a mid-palate, a finish, and no off flavors. New Zealand offers us many fine examples of pinot noir.

Rockburn 2003 Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand
This is a very small production wine. It is complicated and balanced, offering an intersection of new world and old world styles. It's canvas of red raspberries and strawberries are complimented by notes of violets, chocolate, earth, and cola nut. The finish is floral and generous. The acidity gives it great structure, it tannins will allow it to lay down in a cellar for a few years.

Lindauer NV Brut, New Zealand
This bubbly is not extremely fruit forward, but layered and very interesting. Notes of sour cherry, lemonade, green tea, and green apple build in your mouth while the acidity makes your mouth water. The finish hints of Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda. A great value!

Crab Farm 2004 Gewürztraminer, Hawks Bay, New Zealand
Perfect example of how New Zealand winemakers are quite skillful at making whites. This dry gewürztraminer is very soft on the front of the palate with perfume like honey and flowers. It evolves into with a big melon flavor on the mid-palate and creshendos with lemon peel on the fininsh. Great with Asian cuisine, seafood, and foul. -BF

Spy Valley 2004 Sauvignon Blanc, Marlbough, New Zealand
Kiwi sauvignon blancs are known for their biting acidity and pronounced citrus flavors. This example of New Zealand sauvignon blanc is very polished compared to its peers. There are prominent flavors of grapefruit on the palate, but they are soft and elegant. Hints of melon on the mid-palate. It still has good acidity, but is much more quaffable.
-BF $15
