Mitolo Jester Shiraz, Mclauren Vale, Australia
This was the other bottle I brought to the studio.
Mitolo Jester has a 'Stelvin Closure,' or more affectionately known as a screwcap.
Stelvin's are new technology and cost more than a cork,
so when you see one on the business end of a bottle,
you know the winemaker is serious about protecting their wine.
This red is intense with flavors of blueberries and black raspberries,
yet has a subtle spice and minerality.
It doesn't just bowl you over with fruit;
it offers some interesting nuances in the form of fresh herbs, vanilla, and ground spices.
