Red Zeppelin 2004 Bear Valley Ranch & O'Neil Vineyard, Central Coast Syrah
This is a spicy syrah. Aromas of blueberries prevail on the nose. On the palate clove, patchouli, cinnamon, and berry jam are symphony of flavors with vanilla chiming in on the finish. Great acidity is followed by soft tannins. The label is a conversation starter, the wine is solid. Tasted October 24, 2006.
-BF $22

Wine For Good 2004 Good Red, Paso Robles, California
This interesting blend is composed of 40% syrah, 24% merlot, 16% cabernet sauvignon, 14% zinfandel, and 5% viognier. Blackberries, blueberries, toasted vanilla caramel, with hints of cappuccino, this red blend is delicious. The big fruit is prominent, but the soft tannins and soft acidity give this spicy red some structure. Good Wine? I say great wine. -BF -$15
